This paper examines the effects of interest rates with reference to deregulation of various sector of the economy. The interest rates used in this part of the paper are the commercial bank rates. This bas not affected the analysis as the commercial bank rates are in general lower than those of the merchant banks.
Author Bio
Mr. F.O. Oresotu studied in the University of Ibadan where he had his first degree in Mathematics. He did his postgraduate studies in Economics in the London school of Economics, University of London. He joined the Research Department, Central Bank of Nigeria in August, 1969. He is currently a Deputy Director and Head of the Policy intelligence Unit of the Research Department, Central Bank of Nigeria.
