The Status of Supporting Infrastructural Facilities and Services for Non Oil Sector Development

Abstract

This paper focuses on the existing status of infrastructure for non-oil sector development and examines the issues in six parts. First, we consider briefly the Theoretical issues in infrastructure as a key stimulus to development. This is followed by identification of the nature and scope of infrastructure. The third section deals with public policy on infrastructure - delineating the stance of policy and public investment infrastructure. In the fourth section, we try to determine the exist of serious infrastructural shortages and deficiencies indicating how these deficiencies have adversely affected the non-oil sector development. Some proposals improved infrastructural services are presented in section five followed by summary and conclusion in the last section of the paper.
